PLATFORM

(published in December 2025 in Corraini Edizioni’s unsedicesimomag)

Every evening, on the platform at Takadanobaba Station, many people stand facing the same direction.

They come from different workplaces, return to different homes, and carry different thoughts.

But on the platform, these differences fade away.

They stand only as one among many in a line.

I found that scene interesting.

The countless stories that once defined them as individuals lose their force the moment they step onto the platform.

Also in my lens, they lose their individuality.

After shooting, I too stand there, waiting for my train home.

If someone were to look down from the overpass above the opposite platform and aim his camera at me, I too would appear as just one among the crowd in his frame.

While recording these scenes where individuality fades into the crowd, I found myself contemplating even more deeply what it means to remain an individual.

Through these images, like blood cells flowing through the veins of the city, I wanted to share this contemplation with others.
